3 Things To Consider When Purchasing A New Commercial Truck

Blog

If you are in the process of purchasing a new commercial truck for your business, here are three different things that you are going to want to consider.

#1 Axle Load

The first thing that you need to take into consideration is the type of axle load or configuration that you want your new truck to have. There are different axle configurations that allow you to haul different types of loads and weights. You need to make sure that the items that you are interested in shipping and the companies that you want to work with have loads that fit the the type of axle configuration that you want to purchase.

#2 Engine Strength

Second, be sure to consider the strength of the engine. You are going to spend a lot of time and mileage out on the road in your vehicle, so you are going to want to make sure that the engine has the strength you need to get the job done. Since this is a new truck, this is an opportunity for you to go with the power-charged engine that offers you more power. A more powerful engine will make it easier for you to navigate steep hills and terrain and make it to your destinations on time. It will also put less strain on your overall truck when you have a strong engine.

Be sure to check out the different types of engines available in the model of truck that you are looking at. More power can be helpful in getting jobs done effectively.

#3 Living Quarters

Third, make sure that the living quarters are comfortable. Just because you are sleeping in a truck doesn't mean that you should be uncomfortable or feel stuffed into a little box. Make sure that the living area fits your needs. You can get a living area with extra windows on the side or even a sky light on the top so that you can get more natural light into your space. If you like to do computer work or just relax and play on the computer, you can get a folding desktop so that you have an area to work.

As the internet and technically are increasingly important, make sure that your living quarters also have plenty of plug-ins for charging and possibly even USB charging ports as well and are set-up to be as accessible as possible. Don't skimp on the living quarters, because you'll be spending a lot of time there.

Check with a commercial truck dealer in your area to explore your options.

Car Dealer Auto Selection: How The Process Works

After going to my first auto auction, I became very interested in how dealers select the cars they're going to put on their lots. I spent a lot of time talking with local dealers, auction regulars, and others in the industry to learn the behind-the-scenes secrets to picking out the perfect auction cars and getting them lot-ready. I created this site to help others understand what goes into the process in the hopes that it would help car buyers understand what they're looking at when they hit the car lot. I hope the information here helps you better prepare for buying your next car.
